Condition Of Book: A Very Good Copy in Maroon Half Calf over cloth boards,one former owner’s bookplate to the blank endpaper,new marbled endpapers.Four raised bands to spine with black moroccan title label to spine lettered in gilt.Attractive binding and a profusely illustrated work with coats of arms,several different title pages,some fold out plates.Only modest wear to internal contents.Excellent copy for the collector,frontispiece by Van Hove.The First part of the book includes the frontispiece plus a further 33 plates showing multiple coats of arms mostly containing either 9 or 12 to a single leaf,and the second part with three separate title pages in all the first of which is ‘The Achievement of the Kings of England since King Egbert of the Saxon Race’ and with a further four plates each containing twelve different coats of arms.To the recto of the previous owner’s bookplate is a small previous catalogue cutting pasted down with neat ink name underneath.No Author is attributed to this work though it is widely thought that it was conceived by Payne Fischer.Small 8vo measures 4” by 6.5” First Edition [1682] Printed For L Curtis and T Simmons in Ludgate Street London
