Illumintates when held up to light source (see pics) Condition Of Chart: This is a Very Good Copy of this Educational Chart undated but last entry to back is of 1851.This chart shows The Solar System and it is illuminated when held up to the natural light with the use of coloured paper as a backing.It describes how the plantes are retained in their orbit by the opposing actions of the centrifugal and centripe-tal forces.A fascinating and early educational chart on our solar system known at the time.It’s designed and engraved on stiff card and is hand coloured by John Emslie.The Chart is in very good condition with no tears,just a little smudging to the outer edges where it has been handled over the years.Measures 11” by 9” in size.Scarce work.Undated but an entry on the lower section mentions Hinds Discovery of venus in 1851.
