Condition Of book and Dust-Jacket: This is a Very Good + Copy of this Book in two tone brown and green black cloth boards with brown title lettering to spine in a Good Dust-Jacket that has a few small nicks to the wrapper at the head and base of spine plus there is a 1” closed tear to the head of spine and a further small closed tear to the bottom edge of the upper cover with further rubbing to extremities.The dust-wrapper is price clipped and stated on the inner flap is ‘Seventh Printing’ The inner flaps remain clean apart from a few marks to the edge of the rear inner flap.This copy has a nice tight binding with no hinge weakness and there are NO loose leaves,and with no weaknesses to the page gatherings and no turned corners to the pages.The contents internally are very clean with the text in very good condition and still without foxing or page edge toning.The wrapper remains bright and is unfaded in colour tone.There is one small previous owner’s inscription present to the front free endpaper.One of the finest novels of the 20th Century with jacket design by Shirley Smith.A truly seminal work set in Alabama it is both an enchanting and intensely moving novel,8vo 296pp 13th Impression book housed in a Seventh printing Dust-Jacket [1960]
