Title: Uranium 235 A Documentary Play in Eleven Episodes

Publisher First Edition Published By William MacLellan Glasgow 1948………………………………. (see pictures)

Condition Of book : This is a Very Good Copy of this Book in original illustated boards and issued without Dust-Jacket.There are no previous ownership or names present. The book has a firm binding with no hinge weakness. There is just a little dustiness to the white of the rear panel.A fascinating piece of theatre by this Scottish Writer and described on a publicity sheet as a ” vivid portrayal of the history of atomic research and the problems raised by the atom bomb.there is great drama in the discovery of the atom bomb and all it implies is obvious, but many dramatists would have been equally obvious in their treatment of such a theme, in which, no doubt, secret agents and dictators would have been prominent. Not so, MacColl, to whom the spiritual values are the realities. The result is an absorbing play, although ‘play ‘ is hardly the right description. Rather it’s  an absorbing and exciting experience to watch and listen to his ideas on the stage, expressed through speech, mime, dance and song.Uncommon title and in very collectable condition 92pp First Edition [1948] The Play was first performed in 1946 at Newcastle People’s Theatre
