(See Pictures) Condition Of Book: This is a Very Good Copy of this Book in Publisher’s green cloth with gilt lettered title to spine and with gilt drawing of a butterfly to the front board.All page edges are in gilt.Well illustrated in black and white and with 6 wonderful coloured plates as called for.This copy has NO previous owner’s names or inscriprtions present although to the top right corner of the title page and stamped in blind it states ‘Presentation Copy’ The book has a firm binding and the contents remain clean with just an odd bit of foxing to a few tissue guard protectors of the coloured plates.Scarce title in true first edition status.This copy was acquired from Keith Harwood a respected Academic and Author of some 12 fishing books.Rev William Houghton (1828–1895) was an English naturalist and clergyman, and really most noted for being the author of British Fresh-Water Fishes.This is very decent copy for the collector 8vo (vi) 161pp + 7 pages of publisher’s adverts to the rear of the book.
