After Graduating from Middlesex University with a Degree in Drama in 1987,I tried to pursue a career as an actor.Not an easy profession,and after limited success as a struggling actor/stand up comedian and in order to pay the bills and feed the cats,I went into Social Work Management.After one contract ended I decided to take the plunge and work for myself.It has proved to be a wise decision,as I love what I do as much now as I did 20 years ago.
We began selling at book fairs in the North West of England back in the early 1990’s.
Then with the advent of the Internet, we were one of the first 100 UK dealers to begin selling on ABE books in 1998, and of course we still sell on there and on several other platforms. With over 10,000 books we have a wide range of stock but specialise in Modern First Editions, Rare Literature and Children’s and Illustrated books.
Previously we were based in Winchmore Hill North London,but recently moved to a large House Called Thimble Hall in Newby, Rimington Near Clitheroe BB7 4DZ in November 2025.
Quite a lifestyle change.There are a couple of large book rooms here and we always welcome direct contact with customers or fellow dealers.
