Condition and Status of the Book 

This is a Very Good Copy of this book in original Green cloth Boards richly decorated in gilt to both spine and the upper cover.There are no previous names or inscriptions present.The book is not dated which is a First edition point noted,plus there is a blank leaf before the half title page a further First edition point.The work includes a frontispiece and also a pictorial title page.Illustrated in black and white by F.D. Bedford  with a further 11 plates within the book.The contents remain very clean internally with no foxing,there is a hint of age toning to the text block edges,outer remains crisp and clean with slight mark along the top edge of the fore-edge of the upper board and with a small crease line mark to the bottom right corner of the upper board also.Lovely bright and vivid gilt title to spine (see pic) Peter Pan or the Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up or Peter and Wendy is J. M. Barrie’s most famous and sought after work.It first appeared in the form of a 1904 play and a 1911 novel. Both versions tell the story of Peter Pan, a mischievous yet innocent little boy who can fly, and has many adventures on the island of Neverland that is inhabited by mermaids, fairies, Native Americans and pirates. Peter has many stories involving Wendy Darling and her two brothers, his fairy Tinker Bell, the Lost Boys, and the Pirate Captain Hook. The play and novel were inspired by Barrie’s friendship with the Llewelyn Davies family.Scarce 8vo (vii) 267pp First Edition [1911]
