Author: William HoneTitle: The Year Book of Daily Recreation and Information Concerning Remarkable Men and Manners Times and SeasonsPublication: Printed For Thomas Tegg and Son London 1838………… (See Pictures) Condition Of Book: This is a Very Good Copy of this book in half black Calf over blue marbled boards with four raised bands to the spine and with moroccan title label in gilt to the second compartment down the spine.This copy has a firm binding with NO hinge weakness.Well illustrated with some 114 b&w engravings.There are no previous names or inscriptions present.Some modest wear to the outer edges of the boards are noted,but all in all the book shows well and would sit handsomely on any bookshelf.There is one small bookbinder’s ticket in place along the bottom edge of the rear pastedown namely ”Shuttleworth of Eccles” 8vo 1643pp First Edition [1838] William Hone was a famous English writer,satirist and bookseller.His victorious court battle against government censorship in 1817 marked a turning point in the fight for The British Press and it’s right to publish freely and without censor.He was a most courageous man and of free will.                                                                 Free UK Postage We are members of the PBFA
